KAYAK LESSONS & CLASSES

Do you want to learn to paddle but are not sure where to start, or have you been paddling but want to learn how to do it more efficiently?

In this 3-hour class, you will learn the skills and knowledge needed to explore any waterway with confidence and safety in mind.

We will work on fundamental paddling strokes, such as forward stroke refinement, reverse stroke, and forward and reverse sweep. You will also learn about kayaking safety, equipment, launching and landing, and more.

Make sure to have an extra bottle of water for these hot Florida days. There is always the possibility to get wet when you put a boat on water, so bring a waterproof dry bag to keep any valuables dry, or plan to leave those objects in your vehicle.

If you have your own kayaking gear, bring it. Otherwise, we are able to provide you with a kayak and gear.

This is a rain or shine class! The only time a class will be rescheduled is in the event of lightning.

This class is for those who want to learn how to wet exit, recover, re-enter, and be rescued. It will be a physically demanding class where everyone will be participating in the water. This means LOTS of swimming, pumping, and climbing back into half-submerged kayaks.

If you have your own kayaking gear (kayak, PFD, spray skirt, and sponge), bring it. Otherwise, we are able to provide a kayak and gear. We are also able to provide bilge pumps and paddle floats if needed.
